Welcome, Heroes! In Heroes of History, building a thriving city is crucial for your success. This guide will walk you through the essential structures that make up your city and explain how they contribute to a powerful economy, army, and—most importantly—unstoppable heroes!
Homes: The Heart of Your Economy
Homes are where your workers live and are crucial to the functioning of your city. They come in various sizes, with each type accommodating a different number of workers. Beyond providing housing, homes generate tax revenue, producing coins—one of the two primary resources in the game. Coins are essential for advancing through the Research Tree and upgrading troops, so having well-placed and upgraded homes is the foundation of your economic strategy.
Farms: Feeding Your Heroes
Farms provide your city’s source of food, the other primary resource. Food plays a vital role in leveling up your heroes, giving them the strength to take on greater challenges. Like homes, farms come in various sizes, and the more workers you assign, the higher the output. However, farm production requires your management; you’ll need to manually start the process, and once active, the farm will continue producing until it reaches maximum capacity. To ensure efficient operation, collect food regularly!
Barracks: Preparing for Battle
The barracks are where you train your army and get ready for battle. As you advance through the game, different types of military barracks will strengthen corresponding heroes and support units. The barracks also play a critical role in Hero Ability Training—your heroes need to be trained in the right barracks to enhance their battle abilities.
However, remember that only one hero of each type can be trained at a time, so managing your barracks strategically is key. Keep your heroes in training to ensure they’re always battle-ready and can turn the tide of combat in your favor.
Workshops: Crafting Specialized Goods
Workshops are where your coins and food are converted into specialized goods essential for progressing in Heroes of History. For example, the Stone Mason produces Alabaster Idols, and the Bronze Artisan creates Bronze Bracelets. These goods help you advance through the game, so keep a close eye on what you need and tailor your production accordingly to stay ahead of the competition.
Cultural Sites: Enhancing Your City’s Efficiency
Cultural sites don’t produce resources directly, but they can significantly boost the efficiency of nearby buildings. Placing a cultural site next to farms, homes, or barracks will increase their output—more food from farms, more coins from homes, and faster training times at the barracks. These support buildings are crucial for optimizing your city’s productivity, so make sure to place them strategically for maximum impact.
Special Buildings: The Hero Academy
Under the special buildings category, the Hero Academy is essential for converting Research Points into Experience Points, which are critical for leveling up your heroes. Keeping your heroes strong is key to progressing in the game, so always maintain a healthy supply of Experience Points.
Upgrading Your City: Leveling Up Buildings
Every building in your city can be leveled up to unlock greater capabilities. Upgrading homes will increase your tax revenue, while leveling up workshops will allow you to produce new, advanced goods. However, there’s a catch—you can only upgrade two buildings at a time. If you want to speed things up, you can unlock more upgrade slots through the in-game shop.
That’s your crash course on city building in Heroes of History! By managing your resources, strategically placing cultural sites, and keeping your heroes in constant training, you’ll be well on your way to building a thriving city and a formidable army.
