Meet Blackbeard, our newest villain!

Hey Heroes! I have a message to share from Sebastian, one of the artists working on Heroes of History.

“Meet Blackbeard, Our Newest Villain!
Sebastian here, one of the senior artists working on the game, and I’m super excited to introduce you to one of our newest and most infamous Heroes – Blackbeard!

He is coming to the game with Season 6, starting from February 12.

Blackbeard, or Edward Teach as he was known in real life, was a notorious British pirate who terrorized the American East Coast and the Bahamas from 1680 to 1718.

We thought it was high time to add a bit of madness to our roster of friendly Heroes, and who better than Blackbeard to bring that chaotic energy?

One of the wildest tales about Blackbeard is that he would set his beard and hair on fire to confuse and terrify his enemies.

We wanted to capture that legendary madness in our game. We went through multiple sketches, trying to nail down the perfect look that screamed “crazy pirate.”

Our first version was a bit too tame – he looked like just another pirate. So, we cranked up the intensity and added the fiery beard and hair to make him truly stand out.

This fiery look isn’t just for show. It ties directly into his unique double-ability mechanic. Blackbeard starts with Keg Throw, where he hurls a giant pirate keg at his enemies, soaking them in flammable liquid.

Then, in the second stage, he fires a burning bullet at them, causing a massive explosion. It’s a game-changer!

A detail I loved adding was his crazy right eye. Instead of just looking at you in an angry way, his lower eyelids make him look frightening and crazy. It really brings out his wild persona.

I hope you all enjoy playing as Blackbeard as much as we enjoyed creating him.

Be your hero! And remember, even the fiercest pirates can be legendary.
