Fuel the Forge: All About Embers and the Furnace 

Hey Heroes! Kai here again from the Heroes of History design team. 

You’ve learned how Equipment gives your Heroes powerful stat boosts — now let’s talk about what you’ll need to level that gear up: Embers! And to get Embers, we’re introducing a whole new building to your city — the Furnace.

As always, this is still a work-in-progress — some numbers and details may change. But the core of what you’ll read today is already heating up behind the scenes.  

Introducing the Furnace 

The Furnace is a new city building dedicated to Ember production. Here’s what you need to know:  

• You can only place one Furnace in your city 

• It automatically produces Embers over time 

• You can convert surplus resources into extra Embers 

• Upgrading the Furnace increases your daily conversion limits 

Sounds useful, right? Let’s break it down.  

What Are Embers? 

Embers are the key resource required to level up Equipment. You’ll need a lot of them if you want to bring out the full potential of your gear — especially as you chase better stats and Sub Attribute reveals!  

Converting Resources into Embers 

Besides its passive Ember production, the Furnace lets you convert various city resources into Embers. Here’s what’s convertible:  

• Coins 

• Research Points 

• Main City Goods 

Food cannot be converted, and Equipment itself can’t be converted either — but don’t worry! You can sell Equipment directly from the Equipment Screen to gain Embers. 

Limits and Scaling 

To keep things balanced, the Furnace has a daily conversion limit, and it works per resource type (though all Main Goods share a single limit). Want to convert more? Just level up your Furnace to increase your daily limit!  

No Happiness Worries 

The Furnace isn’t impacted by Happiness, and since only one can exist per city, you won’t need to worry about building duplicates.  

Plan Ahead 

If you’re aiming to level up several pieces of Equipment — and you should be — managing your Embers wisely will be key. The Furnace lets you turn what you don’t need into what you do. Think of it as your personal forge of progress.
