In this Forge of Empires Development Update, we want to inform you about the decision to pause the development of the Guild Conquest. After considering comprehensive community feedback, we recognized the need to focus on refining and enhancing existing features before introducing new ones. This shift has prompted us to reconsider our development plans outlined in our April Community Letter.
April Goals Versus May’s New Directions
In April, our roadmap centered around boosting features like Guild Battlegrounds. These improvements are ongoing, with a focus to reduce time investment. The latest GBG Update 2025: Scaling Adjustments introduced reduced progress requirements and revamped reward systems to maintain engaging gameplay.
We also launched the Item Store, starting with the Legacy Exchange. This platform allows you to access event-exclusive buildings and boosts using Diamonds and special resources. The Item Store brings new opportunities for strategic enhancements. Additional Stores for various features are in development and will offer diverse currencies to ensure players have multiple avenues to earn rewards.
The Guild Expedition Trials, rolled out early this year, are set for further expansion. We’re planning enhancements to boost values, ensuring challenges remain engaging while providing structured rewards. The introduction of a dedicated Item Store for Guild Expedition will enrich the experience, allowing players to purchase exclusive items using a new currency earned through battles.
Community-Driven Choices and Enhancements
Our May update spotlighted the community-chosen Pirate Settlement, highlighting our commitment to player-driven content. This new settlement, selected via player votes, will reflect exciting thematic expansions guided by community preferences.
Additionally, the focus on new Eras/Ages emerged as a priority for our evolving game, ensuring a fresh and vibrant gameplay experience.
Revamping the Great Building System
Originally slated for Q3, the significant rework of the Great Building system has now been prioritized, thanks to the pause on Guild Conquest. This shift allows us to focus on adding new progressions and boosts, ensuring these buildings remain central to strategic gameplay. Your feedback emphasized this need, guiding our decision to enhance this essential feature sooner.
