We are excited to announce a major evolution for one of Forge of Empires’ most popular features, Guild Battlegrounds. Coming to our Beta server on July 10th is the brand-new Forge of Empires Battleground Trials. This landmark update is designed to place unprecedented control directly into your hands. With this new system, we invite you to be the first to experience and shape the future of strategic warfare.
For years, Guild Battlegrounds has been a test of a guild’s coordination. This new update, however, evolves that concept by adding a deep layer of personal strategy. The core of the system allows each player to select their own “Trial Level” every day. This choice directly fine-tunes the difficulty of their battles and negotiations. Consequently, this determines the value of the rewards they earn. In short, it’s a dynamic system designed to let you tailor the game to your own pace.
This update is the next major step in our ongoing effort to enhance the Guild Battlegrounds experience. In fact, as we discussed in a previous development update, our goals have been to address time investment and provide more satisfying reward paths. The Forge of Empires Battleground Trials builds directly on that philosophy. Specifically, it empowers you with more meaningful choices and rewards your strategic decisions more directly than ever before.
How the Forge of Empires Battleground Trials Work
The new system fundamentally changes the reward loop. Instead of receiving rewards from a set reward pool after fighting or negotiating a sector, you will earn something new. You will now receive three permanent currencies: Battleground Silver, Gold, and Platinum Coins. Of course, the amount and quality of coins earned are directly tied to the Trial Level you choose for the day. Opting for a higher trial presents a tougher challenge but, as a result, yields a greater bounty of valuable coins.
This new economy is supported by two brand-new stores. First, the “Battleground Seasons” store uses Silver Coins for recurring needs like Forge Points and units. Additionally, its stock will refresh every season. The real game-changer, however, is the “Battleground Championship” store. Here, you can spend your Gold and Platinum Coins. These allow you to acquire main and minor reward buildings from all previous championships. This gives you a direct path to obtaining powerful legacy buildings you may have missed. Furthermore, older buildings are even offered at a significant discount.
Ultimately, this update represents a significant milestone for Forge of Empires. We are giving you the tools to customize your own journey through Guild Battlegrounds. As a result, every battle becomes a deliberate, strategic choice with a clear and valuable outcome. We believe this will invigorate the feature for veterans and new players alike.
