In Belgium, a spontaneous invitation transformed one player’s canceled holiday plans into a life-changing adventure. She shared her predicament in the fellowship chat, and a fellow player offered, “Come to us.” The decision to visit these virtual friends led to what she described as “the best vacation of my life,” a testament to the supportive environment Elvenar fosters, where online relationships can flourish into real-world connections that endure for years.
“Then, a wonderful player I got along well with in the game says, “Come to us.”, to which I replied “Uh, where do you live?”. We met in real life, and I decided to take the flight with a friend to Hyères, and then head to Montpellier where my Elvenar friends came to pick us up. And thus began the best vacation of my life! They’re still my friends 8 years later. Thank you Elvenar.”

Similarly, a love story blossomed amidst the isolation of COVID lockdowns in France, where one player joined Elvenar and found her soulmate in the game’s fellowship.
“I met the love of my life through Elvenar, during Covid. Soon it will be 5 years that we are together, and I want to thank you because without Elvenar, I wouldn’t have met him, since we’re not even being from the same region. Thank you so much!”

“I met a wonderful person on the Arendyl server who changed my life by turning it around 180 degrees. The fellowship I joined had a WhatsApp group, and there was the one who captured my heart. The conversations became more enjoyable and more frequent, and we started sharing our private numbers, and so our love story began. I never thought I’d fall in love and get married again, much less live in Spain! “Legend has it that the invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may tighten or tangle, but it can never break.” That’s how I see Elvenar.”
From Combat to Community: A Newfound Home

“Sooner or later with fighting games I say to myself “I’m wasting my time here”, but in Elvenar, I see myself relaxed, sometimes I chat with someone from the fellowship, we make strategies, project our progress, and make plans together. It’s very entertaining, and there is always some laughter. Also it’s motivating seeing that there are many experienced players, and I hope it continues like this. Oh and by the way, another point in favor is that’s always someone cordially responding through Support to all that happens in this universe.”

“I’ve been playing since December 2015. My life was pretty bad at the time since I had become a widow the year before. The game quickly caught my attention and took up a lot of time that I was probably going to dedicate to my PhD. I found a new husband a few years later, and have relocated twice since then. The pandemic was also definitely made easier because of the social life in Elvenar. “Life goes on, but Elvenar endures”. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of it! “

“I was looking for a city-building game that wasn’t too easy and didn’t necessarily require combat. That’s how I came across Elvenar. The promise of being able to trade or fight appealed to me. The fact that one could be an “elf” also seemed promising as a fan of “The Lord of the Rings.” So, in 2017, I started with a small settlement in Elvenar, and I hope to enjoy the game for a long time to come.”
Swedish Summers and Lasting Friendships

“I have met and played Elvenar with the same players for many years, and they have become real friends even outside the game. I also meet two dear friends every summer when the opportunity arises. Previously, we had some meet-ups within the fellowship and met in real life. It was at one such meet-ups that I met my partner, so love can also blossom in Elvenar. Now years have passed, and we’re still hanging in there.”
